Below are our reheating instructions for our Smoked and Fried Turkeys and Turkey Breast. We hope you and your family enjoy. Thank you for making us a part of your family's dinner table.
Note from the Pit Boss
Ogeechee’s Smoked Turkeys have been brined with a special mixture of seasonings for added flavor and to help retain moisture during the smoking and reheating process. Your fully cooked turkey was smoked with Hickory wood for over 4 hours and reached an internal temp of at least 160. The brining and smoking process enables dark poultry meat (thigh and leg) to retain its natural red pigment often associated with undercooked meat. Don’t be alarmed by this color, as it is a natural color and safe to eat.
For Best results allow 3 Hours total time to reheat the Whole Smoked Turkey. Reheating the turkey in a hurry may dry out the meat.
1.Remove Turkey from the fridge and let stand for 1 hour at room temperature before placing in the oven.
2.Remove from vacuum bag, put a shallow layer of water or chicken stock in the bottom of the turkey pan. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
3.Place the uncovered turkey the oven and set timer for 1 hour. When the timer expires drape a sheet of aluminum foil over the top of the turkey. Set the timer for an additional half hour. Reheat your smoked turkey to an internal temp of at least 155. Check your internal temperature, place a meat thermometer next to the thigh bone.
